Fred Anderson

The "lone prophet of the Prairies", Chicago tenor saxist Fred Anderson has been playing his own way since the 1960s, when he was instrumental in the formation of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM). Still a Windy City presence at his South Side bar the Velvet Lounge, he brings different Midwestern scenes together and has toured and recorded with increasing acclaim over the past decade.
