Nigerian-born, bassist Essiet O. Essiet has been a fixture of the New York scene since he was in one of the last editions of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers. Now he's a busy bassist for hire, as apt to turn up on a concert stage with a group of all stars as with his own band in a miniscule club.
